His father, George Stead, was a gardener. 2 • On 5 Apr 1891 Henry appeared on the census at 13, Loxley Square, Crookes, Sheffield, Yorks as a 31-year-old carpenter. 9 • On 7 Sep 1893 Earl Cadman Stead's birth certificate said he was a journeyman joiner. 10 • His death was registered during the quarter ended Mar 1900 at the Sheffield registration district, with GRO reference Vol 9c, Page 336. 1 • On 3 Oct 1914 his son Earl's marriage certificate said that he had been a carpenter. 11 Henry married Polly SPOONER, daughter of John SPOONER and Sarah HOLMSHAW, on 11 Mar 1883 in St. Peter's Cathedral, Sheffield, Yorks.1 2 (Polly SPOONER was born on 3 Apr 1862 at Howard Hill, Nether Hallam, Yorks 12 13 and died about 1930 1.)
