Events • On 7 Jun 1841 she appeared on the census at Hallamgate, Ecclesall Bierlow, Yorks as a 45-year-old but may have been between 45 and 49 • On 30 Mar 1851 Sarah appeared on the census at the Original Grindstone Inn, 22-24 Crookes, Nether Hallam, Yorks as a 57-year-old farmer and publican. 3 • On 7 Apr 1861 she appeared on the census at the East Side of Crookes, Nether Hallam, Yorks as a 68-year-old widowed proprietoress of houses. 4 • On 2 Apr 1871 Sarah appeared on the census at the Original Grindstone Inn, 22-24 Crookes, Nether Hallam, Yorks as a 77-year-old widow and a retired inkeper. 5 • Her death was registered during the quarter ended Sep 1873 at the Ecclesall Bierlow registration district, with GRO reference Vol 9c, Page 155. 6 Sarah married George STEAD, son of Thomas STEADE and Sarah, on 25 Apr 1815 in Rotherham, Yorks. (George STEAD was born about 1789 in Yorkshire 2, christened on 8 Feb 1789 in St. Peter's Cathedral, Sheffield, Yorks,7 died on 14 Jul 1844 in Hallam Gate, Ecclesall, Yorks 1 and was buried in St. Paul's Church, Sheffield, Yorks 1.)
