• On 7 Apr 1861 she appeared on the census at the East Side of Crookes, Nether Hallam, Yorks as a 68-year-old widowed proprietoress of houses. ⁴

• On 2 Apr 1871 Sarah appeared on the census at the Original Grindstone Inn, 22-24 Crookes, Nether Hallam, Yorks as a 77-year-old widow and a retired inkeper. ⁵

• Her death was registered during the quarter ended Sep 1873 at the Ecclesall Bierlow registration district, with GRO reference Vol 9c, Page 155. ⁶

Sarah married George STEAD, son of Thomas STEADE and Sarah, on 25 Apr 1815 in Rotherham, Yorks. (George STEAD was born about 1789 in Yorkshire ², christened on 8 Feb 1789 in St. Peter's Cathedral, Sheffield, Yorks,⁷ died on 14 Jul 1844 in Hallam Gate, Ecclesall, Yorks ¹ and was buried in St. Paul's Church, Sheffield, Yorks ¹.)
