• On 7 Jun 1841 Sarah appeared on the census at Hallamgate, Ecclesall Bierlow, Yorks as a 15-year-old but may have been between 15 and 19. ³

• On 2 Apr 1871 she appeared on the census at the Original Grindstone Inn, 22-24 Crookes, Nether Hallam, Yorks as a 48-year-old grocer and innkeeper. ⁴

• On 3 Apr 1881 Sarah appeared on the census at 40 Newbould Lane, Broomhill, Yorks as a 58-year-old widow and a retired grocer. ⁵

• On 5 Apr 1891 she appeared on the census at 500 Crookesmoor Road, Nether Hallam, Yorks as a 67-year-old widow living on her own means. ⁶

• On 31 Mar 1901 Sarah appeared on the census at 6 Manchester Road, Crookes, Yorks as a 79-year-old widow living with her widowed son-in-law William Bocking. ⁷

Sarah married William LOXLEY about 1850 in Sheffield, Yorks.¹ (William LOXLEY was born in 1817 in Ecclesfield, Yorks ⁴ and died before 1881 ⁵.) The cause of his death was Apoplexy (Stroke) 30 hours.
