Cause of his death was Killed in action. Medical Notes: His body was not recovered and he is remembered in the Basra Memorial which commemorates more that 40,500 Commonwealth soldiers who died in Mesopotamia between 1914 and 1921 and whose graves are unknown. 3 Events • On 31 Mar 1901 he appeared on the census at Beggar Hill, Fryerning, Essex as an eight-year-old. 1 • On 2 Apr 1911 Albert appeared on the census at the Royal Artillery Barracks East Side and other Buildings, Woolwich, Kent as a 19-year-old gunner in the 24th (Heavy) battery R.G.A. 2 |
