Events • On 7 Jun 1841 he appeared on the census at Rutland Street, St. Pancras, Middx as an eleven-year-old. 4 • On 30 Mar 1851 Mortimore appeared on the census at Mortimore House, 6 Stanhope Place, St. Pancras, Middx as a 20-year-old carpenter. 5 • On 22 Nov 1854 his marriage certificate said that he was a batchelor of full age who worked as a carpenter and that he lived at Mortimore House, 6 Stanhope Place, St. Pancras, Middx.. 2 • On 6 Jan 1857 he appeared as a witness to the marriage between his brother Alfred and Fanny Slade at St. Pancras Old Church, St. Pancras, Middx. 7 • On 7 Apr 1861 he appeared on the census at 5a Clarence Road, Kentish Town, Middx as a 30-year-old carpenter and joiner. 8 • On 2 Apr 1871 Mortimore appeared on the census at 18 Caledonian Road, Islington, Middx as a 40-year-old carpenter. 9 • On 26 Dec 1882 his daughter Jessie's marriage certificate said he was a builder. 10 • On 5 Apr 1891 he appeared on the census at 63 Warren Street, St. Pancras, Middx as a 60-year-old carpenter and joiner lodging in the home of Charles Chandler, carman. He is still shown as being married, but his wife, Margaret, is not with him. 11 • His death was registered during the quarter ended Dec 1891 at the Marylebone registration district, with GRO reference vol 1a, page 386. 6 Mortimore married Margaret HOPKINS, daughter of John HOPKINS and Unknown, on 22 Nov 1854 in St. Pancras Parish Chapel, St. Pancras, Middx.1 2 (Margaret HOPKINS was born about 1833 in St. Pancras, Middx 8 9.)
