• On 3 Apr 1881 Kate appeared on the census at Church Street, Blackmore, Essex as a 28-year-old married woman living with her husband and four children. 4
• On 5 Apr 1891 she appeared on the census at Southwoods, Writtle, Essex as a 37-year-old. 5
• On 31 Mar 1901 Kate appeared on the census at 135 Southborough Road, East Ham, Essex as a 49-year-old. 6
• On 2 Apr 1911 she appeared on the census at 230 Parkhurst Road, Manor Park, East Ham, Essex as a 60-year-old who had been married for 36 years with 2 children, both still living. I suspect that this actually refers to those children still at home and that the information was incorrectly recorded. 7
Kate married Francis James ROLFE, son of James ROLPH and Ann HILLIARD, about 1875.1 (Francis James ROLFE was born about 1853 in Writtle, Essex 4 5 6 7 8 9 10.)
• Their marriage was registered during the quarter ended Mar 1875 at the Ongar registration district, with GRO reference vol 4a, page 129. She is shown as Clark and he as Rolf. 1
