His father, Robert Wood, was shown as a porter. 2 • On 12 Aug 1885 both the baptism certificates of his daughters Charlotte Isabel and Clarissa Amelia said he was a labourer and he lived at 31 Salisbury Place, Bermondsey, London. 3 4 • On 5 Apr 1891 Charles appeared on the census at 26 Minto Street, Bermondsey, London as a 30-year-old warehouseman. 5 • On 7 Mar 1892 his daughter Clarissa Amelia's schhol admission record said he lived at 25 Hamilton Square, Southwark, Middx. 6 • On 31 Mar 1901 he appeared on the census at 5 Minto Street, Bermondsey, London as a 40-year-old over looker in Brush Dept. at E & T Pinks who were a wholesale confectioner and marmalade and jam manufacturer. The business was established by Edward Pink when he opened a jam and pickle factory in Bermondsey in the late1880s. 7 • On 2 Apr 1911 Charles appeared on the census at 126 Sandhurst Road, Catford, Middx as a 49-year-old caretaker and verger. 8 Charles married Charlotte COE, daughter of Unknown and Emma Ann COE, on 6 Nov 1881 at St. Anne's Parish Church, Bermondsey, London.1 2 (Charlotte COE was born on 10 Mar 1864 in Rotherhithe, Surrey 9 10 11 and was christened on 3 Dec 1869 in St. Mary's Church, Rotherhithe, Surrey 9.)
