• On 6 Jan 1857 his marriage certificate said that he was a batchelor of full age, working as a butcher and that he lived at Park Street, St. Pancras, Middx. His father, Mortimore, was shown as a builder. 7
• On 13 May 1860 his daughter Ellen Maria's birth certificate said he was a butcher and he lived at 13 Bolton Street, Westminster, Middx. 8
• On 7 Apr 1861 Alfred appeared on the census at Great College Street, Westminster, Middx as a 25-year-old butcher. 9
• On 2 Apr 1871 he appeared on the census at Devon Terrace, Albion Road, Hackney, Middx as a 35-year-old butcher. 10
• On 27 Feb 1873 his daughter Katie's birth certificate said he was a publican and he lived at Devon Terrace, Albion Road, Hackney, Middx. 11
• On 5 Apr 1874 the baptism certificates for three of his children, Alfred Mortimer, Ernest Henry and Alice Fanny all said he was a licensed victualler and he lived at Devon Terrace, Albion Road, Hackney, Middx. 12 13 14
• On 1 Jan 1877 his daughter Ellen Maria's marriage certificate said he was a mariner. 15
• On 3 Apr 1881 Alfred appeared on the census at Stockmar Road, Hackney, Middx as a 45-year-old journeyman butcher. 16
• His death was registered during the quarter ended Jun 1885 at the Hackney registration district, with GRO reference vol 1d, page 348 but the page number may be 318 as the image is unclear. 6
• On 16 Feb 1896 his son Ernest Henry's marriage certificate said that he had been a butcher.
Alfred married Fanny SLADE, daughter of Aaron SLADE and Unknown, on 6 Jan 1857 in St. Pancras Old Church, St. Pancras, Middx.1 (Fanny SLADE was born about 1837 in Camden Town, Middx 9.)
