• On 30 Mar 1851 he appeared on the census at Plough Road, Pensnett, Staffs as a 40-year-old furnace man labourer. 7
• On 7 Apr 1861 Alexander appeared on the census at Commonside, Kingswinford, Staffs as a 51-year-old furnace keeper. 3
• On 30 May 1868 his daughter Sarah's marriage certificate said he was a labourer. 8
• On 2 Apr 1871 he appeared on the census at Bromley Lane, Pensnett, Staffs as a 61-year-old forger labourer. 9
• On 3 Apr 1881 Alexander appeared on the census at 36 Sarah Street, Stranton, West Hartlepool as a 72-year-old labourer in iron works. 10
• His death was registered during the quarter ended Jun 1887 at the Hartlepool registration district, with GRO reference vol 10a, page 75. 5
Alexander married Harriett HOMER, daughter of Thomas HOMER and Susannah, on 7 Feb 1830 in St. Thomas's Church, Dudley.1 (Harriett HOMER was born about 1813 in Kingswinford, Staffs, christened on 15 Aug 1813 in Brierley Hill, Staffs 11 and died about 1883 12.)
