Family Links Spouses/Children: Sophia ROYCE William WHITE 1 Born: Abt 1808, Terling, Essex 1 Marriage: Sophia ROYCE about 1837 Died: Bef 1881 2   Events • On 7 Jun 1841 he appeared on the census at Waltham Road, Terling, Essex as a 30-year-old agricultural labourer who may have been between 30 and 34. 3 • On 30 Mar 1851 William appeared on the census at Waltham Road, Terling, Essex as a 42-year-old farm labourer. Also in the household was Sarah Royce, a lodger, unmarried and aged 85 (born abt 1766). She was, presumably, some relative of his wife. 4 • On 2 Apr 1871 he appeared on the census at Sparrows Farm, Terling, Essex as a 63-year-old agricultural labourer. Also in the household was his 16-year-old grandson, William, born about 1855. 1 William married Sophia ROYCE, daughter of Jon ROYCE and Susannah DOWSETT, about 1837. (Sophia ROYCE was born on 1 Feb 1812 in Terling, Essex 2 4 5 and was christened on 15 Mar 1812 in Terling, Essex 6.)    • Their marriage was registered during the quarter ended Sep 1837 at the Witham registration district, with GRO reference vol 12, page 355. 7
